First to Help Others
A Day Off Work
(J.M. – Indiana, USA) – Rolled the Cube this morning and it said “FIRST To Help Others!” Then I remembered “It’s Sunday, no work today!” But then I thought: “Hey, this is a good idea even though its not a work day!” So I made the bed and picked up my dirty socks off the floor. I’m sure my wife will appreciate it!
Diving Right In
(J.M. – Indiana, USA) – The Company Cube asked me to roll it today, and it told me: ‘FIRST To Help Others!’ It was a busy day with many things to do. One of our young scientists was having trouble with a spreadsheet that was not giving correct predictions. Instead of thinking “I’ll help her later.” I decided to go right away and review printouts from the analysis. After some time working together, we were able to find the ‘first’ error, which she was able to fix quickly. Now, instead of being stuck, we are on our way to solving the entire problem. Thanks Cube for the reminder that, sometimes, its just best to roll up your sleeves and dive in!
More than a Deadline
(J.J. – Indiana, USA) – I rolled the cube and got ‘First to Help.’ I was expecting some information to come in that day and then I would need to format it. It was getting late and I still hadn’t received the information. I emailed the person to say that I wouldn’t be able to finish the project tonight, so maybe he would need to do it himself.
As, I was getting ready to leave I remembered the cube, be the first to help others. I decided that if he sent the information I would complete the task, even if the deadline had passed.
I went to collect my belongings and when I came back, I had received the information already formatted. It had been taking longer because he had decided to help me out ahead of time! He asked for help with another task, so I took some extra time that evening to help him with his next project.
